The first step to enabling the touch screen on your Acer Chromebook is to first ensure that you have the capability to toggle it on or off via a flag.
Here's how to proceed:
-
Access Chrome Flags: In the Chrome browser's address bar, type
chrome://flags
and press Enter. This will open the Chrome Flags page. -
Search for Touchscreen Flag: In the search bar at the top of the Chrome Flags page, type "touchscreen".
-
Enable the Touchscreen Flag: Look for a flag related to enabling or disabling the touchscreen. The description might be similar to "Enable touchscreen" or "Touchscreen availability". If the flag is set to "Disabled", change it to "Enabled".
-
Restart Your Chromebook: After changing the flag, a "Restart" button will appear at the bottom of the page. Click it to restart your Chromebook. This is necessary for the changes to take effect.
After your Chromebook restarts, the touchscreen should be enabled. If you still have problems, check the display settings to make sure there isn't an option to disable the touchscreen there.
