Selecting multiple 3D objects or parts within a scene in Clip Studio Paint is straightforward and can significantly speed up your workflow when arranging or modifying complex 3D layouts.
Quick Selection Methods
The most common way to select multiple 3D items is by using the keyboard shortcut while clicking.
You can select multiple 3D materials or parts by holding Shift while clicking on them. Click the first object you want to select, then hold down the Shift key and click on additional objects or parts. This adds each clicked item to your current selection.
Using the Object List (PRO/EX)
For users of Clip Studio Paint PRO or EX, there's an additional method that offers more control, especially when dealing with many objects or objects that are difficult to click on directly.
Accessing the Object List
- Select the 3D layer containing your objects.
- In the Object Launcher that appears, click the [Display object list] icon. This icon typically looks like a list or bullet points.
- The object list will appear in the Sub Tool Detail palette. This palette provides a clear hierarchical view of all 3D materials and parts within the selected layer.
Selecting from the Object List
- Shift-Click: To select a range of consecutive objects or parts in the list, click the first item, hold Shift, and click the last item.
- Ctrl/Cmd-Click: To select multiple non-consecutive objects or parts in the list, hold Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (macOS) and click each item individually.
The object list can be displayed larger than the Tool Property palette, making it easier to navigate and select specific components within complex 3D models or scenes.
By utilizing these methods, you can efficiently select and manipulate multiple 3D objects simultaneously, allowing for faster composition and adjustment of your 3D environments in Clip Studio Paint.
