How do you measure your sleeve size?

Published in Clothing Measurement 1 min read

To measure your sleeve size, follow these steps:

Start by measuring from the center back of your neck (nape) and extend the tape measure over the top of your shoulder, down your arm, to just below your wrist bone. Alternatively, you can measure a well-fitting shirt that you already own.

You can use the following approach for accuracy:

  • Starting Point: Place the end of the tape measure at the backbone at the nape of your neck. This ensures an accurate measurement across your shoulder.
  • Shoulder Measurement: Run the tape measure over the top of your shoulder, following a seam line if available.
  • Arm Length: Continue measuring down your arm to just below your wrist bone. This point usually corresponds to where the cuff of a well-fitted shirt would end.
  • Alternative Method: If you have a favorite shirt that fits well, you can lay it flat and measure the sleeve length from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.
