Tertiary colors are created by mixing a primary color with a neighboring secondary color. This results in six tertiary colors:
- Red-orange
- Yellow-orange
- Yellow-green
- Blue-green
- Blue-violet
- Red-violet
These colors are often described as "intermediate" colors because they fall between the primary and secondary colors on the color wheel.
For example, red-orange is created by mixing red (a primary color) with orange (a secondary color).
Tertiary colors can add depth and complexity to a color palette and are often used to create subtle variations of primary and secondary colors.
