What is the strongest type of tissue?

Published in Connective Tissue 1 min read

Bone is considered the strongest type of tissue in the human body. Its rigid extracellular matrix is primarily composed of collagen fibers embedded in a mineralized ground substance containing hydroxyapatite, a form of calcium phosphate. This unique composition gives bone its exceptional strength and durability.

While other tissues like cartilage and tendons are strong and flexible, they lack the mineralized structure that makes bone the hardest and most resistant to stress and impact.
