Why Are Bricks Offset?

Bricks are offset in construction to significantly enhance the structural integrity and stability of walls.

  • Increased Strength: Staggering the joints between brick courses creates a woven effect. This interlocking pattern distributes weight and stress more evenly throughout the wall, making it far stronger than if the bricks were stacked directly on top of each other with continuous vertical joints.
