Cerazette is a progestogen-only pill (POP) used as a contraceptive. It prevents pregnancy through two primary mechanisms:
How Cerazette Works
- Thickening Cervical Mucus: Cerazette thickens the mucus in the cervix. This thickened mucus creates a barrier that prevents sperm from easily entering the womb and reaching an egg.
- Stopping Ovulation: Cerazette also inhibits ovulation in some women. It prevents egg cells from fully ripening and being released from the ovaries.
