How Do I Align Multiple Images in CorelDraw?

Published in CorelDraw Alignment 3 mins read

To align multiple images in CorelDraw, use the Align and Distribute tools. Here's how:

  1. Select the Images: Click and drag a selection box around all the images you want to align. Alternatively, click on one image, hold down the Shift key, and click on the remaining images.

  2. Access the Align and Distribute Docker: There are a few ways to access the Align and Distribute docker:

    • Method 1: Menu Bar: Go to Arrange > Align and Distribute > Align and Distribute.... This opens the Align and Distribute docker on the right-hand side of the CorelDraw interface.
    • Method 2: Keyboard Shortcut: Press Ctrl+Shift+A. This will also open the Align and Distribute docker.
  3. Choose Alignment Options: In the Align and Distribute docker, you'll find various alignment options. Here's a breakdown:

    • Align: This tab allows you to align the selected images based on their left, right, top, bottom, center (horizontal or vertical), or to the edge of the page.

    • Distribute: This tab allows you to evenly space the images horizontally or vertically.

  4. Specify Alignment Parameters:

    • Align Objects To: In the "Align" tab, you'll usually have the option to align to:
      • Active Objects: This aligns the objects relative to each other. The last object selected acts as the reference point.
      • Page Edge: This aligns the objects to the edge of the page.
      • Page Center: This aligns the objects to the center of the page.
      • Grid: This aligns objects to the grid.
  5. Apply the Alignment: Once you've selected your desired alignment options (e.g., align left edges, align to page center), click the corresponding button within the Align and Distribute docker. The images will instantly align according to your settings.

Example:

Let's say you have three images scattered on your page and want to align their left edges.

  1. Select all three images.
  2. Open the Align and Distribute docker (Arrange > Align and Distribute > Align and Distribute... or Ctrl+Shift+A).
  3. Ensure the "Align" tab is selected.
  4. Verify that "Align objects to" is set to "Active Objects" (or "First Selected").
  5. Click the "Left" alignment button. All three images will now be aligned along their left edges, using the leftmost image as the reference point.

Grouping Objects:

If you want to treat the aligned images as a single unit, select all of them after aligning and press Ctrl+G to group them. This makes it easier to move and resize them together. To ungroup, select the group and press Ctrl+U.

By using the Align and Distribute tools, you can easily and accurately position multiple images in CorelDraw for a professional and visually appealing design.
