How Do You Add a Shadow in Corel?

Published in CorelDraw Graphics 2 mins read

Adding a drop shadow in CorelDRAW is straightforward using the Drop Shadow tool. Here's how you do it:

  1. Select the Drop Shadow Tool: In the CorelDRAW toolbox, find and click on the Drop Shadow tool. It usually looks like a shadowed square.

  2. Apply the Shadow: Click on the object you want to add a shadow to. Then, click and drag either from the center or the side of the object. Drag until the drop shadow reaches your desired size and position.

That's it! By dragging, you control the shadow's direction and how far it extends from the object. You can also customize the shadow further using the property bar at the top of the screen, allowing you to adjust parameters like:

  • Shadow Color: Choose the color of the shadow. Black is the most common, but you can use any color you want.
  • Shadow Opacity: Control how transparent the shadow is.
  • Shadow Feathering: Soften or sharpen the edges of the shadow.
  • Shadow Direction: Precisely adjust the shadow's angle.
  • Shadow Blend Mode: Change how the shadow interacts with the background.

Experiment with these settings to achieve the perfect drop shadow effect for your design.
