How Do You Edit Across Layers in CorelDRAW?

Published in CorelDRAW Layers 2 mins read

To edit objects across multiple layers simultaneously in CorelDRAW, you need to enable a specific setting within the Object manager docker.

You can easily allow editing on all layers by clicking the Edit across layers button in the Object manager docker. When this feature is active, the button will appear pressed, indicating that you can now select and modify objects regardless of which layer they reside on.

To restrict editing back to only the currently active layer, simply click the Edit across layers button again. The button will no longer appear pressed when this function is disabled.

Steps to Enable Editing Across Layers:

  1. Open the Object manager docker. (If not visible, you can typically find it under the Window > Dockers menu).
  2. Locate the Edit across layers button at the top of the Object manager docker.
  3. Click the button.

Visual Indicator:

  • Enabled: The Edit across layers button appears pressed in. You can now select and edit objects on any layer.
  • Disabled: The Edit across layers button appears raised. You can only select and edit objects on the currently active layer.

This allows for greater flexibility when arranging or modifying elements that are spread across different organizational layers within your CorelDRAW project.
