The most abundant gases present in the universe are hydrogen and helium.
While hydrogen and helium dominate, trace amounts of other gases also exist in interstellar space. These include elements like carbon, oxygen, and iron, as well as various molecules. Scientists use spectrometers to identify these trace amounts. Therefore, while hydrogen and helium are the most present, other gases are also present, albeit in much smaller quantities.
