Giving CPR to a woman involves the same basic steps as giving CPR to anyone else. The video reference describes the hands-only CPR method.
Hands-Only CPR Steps
- Call for help: Ensure someone has called emergency services or do it yourself if possible.
- Hand Placement: Place the heel of one hand in the center of the woman's chest. Put your other hand on top of the first.
- Compression: Push hard and fast in the center of the chest. Continue compressions until help arrives.
- Important Considerations:
- When performing chest compressions, aim for a depth of at least 2 inches (5 cm) and a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute.
- Do not worry about giving breaths if you are not trained or comfortable doing so; continuous chest compressions are the priority.
