In cricket, a "donkey drop" refers to a specific type of delivery.
Donkey Drop Explained
A donkey drop is characterized by being:
- Ludicrously high: The ball is bowled with excessive height, much higher than a typical delivery.
- Aimed at the wicket: The intention is for the ball to land directly on the batsman's wicket, potentially resulting in a dismissal.
Therefore, a donkey drop is essentially a very high, looping delivery intended to bowl the batsman out. It is also sometimes referred to as a "moon ball".
