How do I link tracks in Cubase?

Published in Cubase Audio Editing 2 mins read

To link tracks in Cubase, you can use the "Link Channels" feature. This allows you to control multiple tracks simultaneously, adjusting parameters like volume, pan, and more.

Here's how you can link tracks:

  1. Select the Tracks: In the Cubase project window, select the tracks you want to link. You can do this by clicking on the first track and then holding Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) while clicking on the other tracks.
  2. Access the Link Channels Feature: Right-click on one of the selected tracks.
  3. Choose "Link Channels": From the context menu, select "Link Channels."
  4. Name the Link Group (Optional): A window may appear allowing you to name the link group. This is useful for organization, especially in larger projects.
  5. Specify Link Parameters: Decide exactly which parameters you want to link between the selected channels. This could include volume, pan, mute, record enable, or other parameters available in the Inspector or Channel Settings window. Not all parameters need to be linked; you can choose which ones are relevant to your workflow.

When tracks are linked, adjusting a linked parameter on one track will automatically adjust the same parameter on all other tracks within the link group.
