To remove a curtain grid (mullions) within a curtain wall, follow these steps:
-
Select the Curtain Grid Element: Hover your mouse cursor over the curtain panel or mullion you want to remove.
-
Use the Tab Key: Press the
Tab
key repeatedly. This will cycle through the selectable elements until the status bar (usually at the lower left corner of your screen) indicates that you have selected "Walls : Curtain wall : Curtain grid." or just "Curtain grid". -
Select the Curtain Grid: Once the status bar shows that the curtain grid is selected, click to select it.
-
Delete the Curtain Grid: Press the
Delete
key on your keyboard, or right-click and choose "Delete" from the context menu. This will remove the selected gridline and any mullions attached to it.
Important Considerations:
-
Pinning: If you are unable to delete the curtain grid, it may be pinned. Unpin the grid by selecting it and clicking the "Unpin" icon (it looks like a thumbtack) in the ribbon. Then, try deleting it again.
-
Multiple Segments: If the grid is segmented, ensure you are selecting the entire grid line and not just a segment. Tabbing can help here.
-
Curtain System vs. Curtain Wall: Ensure you are working with a true curtain wall and not a curtain system applied to a mass. Removal techniques may differ slightly.
By following these steps, you can successfully remove unwanted curtain grids from your curtain wall design.
