Pakistan holds the rank of 4th largest dairy producer in the world, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
The dairy industry in Pakistan is primarily characterized by smallholding farms, with approximately 97% of milk consumed in its fresh, unprocessed form. The remaining 3% undergoes Ultra-High Temperature (UHT) processing. These farms generally operate at subsistence or market-oriented levels, followed by peri-urban or commercial-level farming practices.
