How do you make fat-free milk?

Published in Dairy Products 1 min read

Fat-free milk can be made from raw cow's milk or non-homogenized whole milk by separating the fat.

Here's how to separate the fat:

  • Boiling: Boil the raw or non-homogenized whole milk.
  • Refrigeration: Let the raw or non-homogenized whole milk sit in the refrigerator for 24 hours. The fat will separate and rise to the top, allowing you to skim it off.

In both methods, the key is allowing the fat to separate from the rest of the milk, which you can then remove. After skimming off the fat, you're left with fat-free milk.
