You can quickly copy title settings in DaVinci Resolve by using the Paste Attributes function, duplicating on the timeline, or saving to the Media Pool.
Here's a breakdown of the methods:
Method 1: Paste Attributes
This is the quickest and most common method for copying title settings.
- Select the source title on the timeline whose settings you want to copy.
- Copy the title: You can do this by right-clicking the title clip and selecting "Copy," or by using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl/Cmd + C).
- Select the target title(s) on the timeline where you want to apply the copied settings. You can select multiple titles.
- Paste Attributes: Right-click on the selected target title(s) and choose "Paste Attributes."
- Choose the Attributes: A window will appear. In the "Video Attributes" section, select only the attributes relevant to the title or text settings (e.g., "Text"). Deselect any attributes you don't want to copy (like sizing or position if those are unique to each clip).
- Apply: Click "Apply." The selected attributes will be copied from the source title to the target title(s).
Method 2: Duplicate on the Timeline
This method is useful for creating an exact copy of a title, including its settings and position on the timeline.
- Select the title you want to duplicate.
- Alt + Drag (Option + Drag on Mac): Hold down the Alt (or Option) key and click and drag the title to a new position on the timeline. This will create a duplicate of the title at the new location.
- Modify: You can then modify the text of the new duplicate if needed.
Method 3: Save to the Media Pool for Re-Use
This method is beneficial if you want to save a title style for use in future projects.
- Drag from Timeline to Media Pool: Select the title clip on the timeline and drag it into a bin in your Media Pool. This will create a copy of the title as a new clip within the Media Pool.
- Re-use: You can then drag this clip from the Media Pool onto any timeline in any project. Any modifications to this "master" clip in the Media Pool will not affect existing instances on timelines.
