How to Export Portrait Video in DaVinci Resolve?

Published in DaVinci Resolve Export 1 min read

To export a portrait video in DaVinci Resolve, you need to adjust the clip attributes to change the image orientation. Here's how:

  1. Import your video into DaVinci Resolve. Note that it might initially appear horizontally.

  2. Right-click on the clip within the media pool or timeline.

  3. Select "Clip Attributes." This opens a window where you can modify the clip's properties.

  4. Navigate to the "Image Orientation" setting.

  5. Change the "Image Orientation" to "90 degrees right." This rotates the video into a vertical orientation.

  6. Click "OK."

Now, your video will appear in portrait orientation in the DaVinci Resolve timeline. You can then proceed with editing and exporting your video as usual, ensuring your project settings (timeline resolution) match your desired portrait dimensions (e.g., 1080x1920).
