Why Does Akaza Hate Kokushibo?

Published in Demon Slayer 1 min read

Akaza's animosity towards Kokushibo stems from a combination of perceived weakness and direct threats.

Akaza harbored resentment towards Kokushibo for multiple reasons:

  • Perceived Weakness: Akaza denounced Kokushibo as "exceedingly weak" for refusing to continue his battle against Giyu Tomioka and Tanjiro Kamado. Akaza values strength above all else and sees Kokushibo's decision to disengage as a sign of inadequacy.
  • Threat of Death: When Kokushibo admonished Akaza (Upper Three) for attacking the higher-ranked Doma, Akaza became enraged and Kokushibo threatened him with death. This established a hostile dynamic between the two.

In essence, Akaza's hatred towards Kokushibo originates from the latter's perceived failure to embody the ideal of strength and the direct threat leveled against Akaza's life.
