How do you apply dental gel to gums?

Published in Dental Hygiene 2 mins read

Applying dental gel involves using a thin ribbon of the gel and targeting the teeth, allowing the medication to spread to the gums.

Here's how to correctly apply dental gel to your gums:

  1. Preparation: Gather your dental gel and a toothbrush or mouth tray.
  2. Application:
    • Apply a thin ribbon of the gel to your teeth using a toothbrush or mouth tray. The gel will naturally spread to the gums.
    • Ensure even distribution.
  3. Duration: Aim to keep the gel in contact with your teeth and gums for at least 1 minute. It's best to do this at bedtime.
  4. Post-Application:
    • Spit out the excess gel after use.
    • Do not eat, drink, or rinse your mouth for 30 minutes to allow the gel to work effectively.
