How to Make Natural Face Oil

Creating your own natural face oil is easy and allows for customization to your skin type. Simply combine carrier oils with optional specialty and essential oils.

The base of your face oil consists of carrier oils. These are oils that dilute essential oils and provide moisturizing benefits. Popular choices include:

  • Jojoba oil: Similar to our skin's natural oils, it's lightweight and easily absorbed.
  • Sweet almond oil: Gentle and moisturizing, suitable for most skin types.
  • Grapeseed oil: Lightweight and non-comedogenic (won't clog pores).
  • Rosehip seed oil: Rich in antioxidants, helpful for reducing the appearance of scars and wrinkles.
  • Argan oil: Moisturizing and rich in vitamin E.
  • Apricot kernel oil: Lightweight and easily absorbed.

Next, consider adding specialty oils for extra benefits. Examples include:

  • Rosehip oil: Known for its anti-aging properties.
  • Carrot seed oil: Rich in antioxidants and may help improve skin tone.
  • Evening primrose oil: Can help with dryness and inflammation.

Finally, you can add a few drops of essential oils for fragrance and potential therapeutic benefits. Remember to use only a small amount, as essential oils are potent. Examples include:

  • Lavender oil: Calming and may help soothe irritated skin.
  • Frankincense oil: May help with anti-aging.
  • Rose geranium oil: Known for its balancing properties.
  • Roman chamomile oil: May help soothe sensitive skin.

  4. Add your specialty oil(s), if using, filling the remaining space.
  5. Add 2-5 drops of essential oil(s), if desired.
  6. Gently shake to combine.

Example Recipe (Simple):
