How to Connect Heat Pump Dryer to Drain?

Published in Dryer Drain Connection 2 mins read

Connecting your heat pump dryer to a drain allows the condensed water to automatically empty, eliminating the need to regularly empty the collection tank.

For heat pump dryers, similar to Bosch and Siemens condenser dryers, the process involves redirecting the existing internal hose and connecting the included drain hose.

Steps for Connecting Your Heat Pump Dryer to a Drain

Based on common procedures for models like Bosch and Siemens heat pump dryers, here are the steps to connect your appliance to a drain:

  1. Locate the Connection Point: Find the connector on the bottom right of the dryer. There will also be a holder nearby designed for the existing hose.
  2. Detach the Existing Hose: Detach the existing hose from the connector. This hose typically leads to the internal water collection tank.
  3. Secure the Detached Hose: Connect it to the holder located beside the connector. This secures the hose so it doesn't hang loose and indicates that the dryer is set up for external draining.
  4. Connect the Drain Hose: Connect the included drain hose to the freed-up connector. This hose will then be routed to your household drain (e.g., a standpipe, sink drain, or dedicated drain connection).

By following these steps, you divert the condensed water from the internal tank directly to your home's drainage system.
