We live in the troposphere, the lowest layer of Earth's atmosphere. It extends from the ground level up to about 10 km (6.2 miles) above sea level. Almost all weather phenomena occur within this layer.
The troposphere contains most of the atmosphere's mass and water vapor, which is crucial for life on Earth.
