Where is Earth's center of gravity?

Published in Earth Science 1 min read

Earth's center of gravity (or center of mass) is located at the center of the Earth.

Because the mass of the Earth is distributed relatively evenly in all directions around its center, the gravitational forces are balanced at that central point. This means that the center of gravity coincides with the geometrical center of the Earth. While density variations exist within the Earth's layers (core, mantle, crust), they are distributed in a way that maintains the overall symmetry of mass distribution.

Therefore, for most practical purposes and calculations, we can consider Earth's center of gravity to be at its physical center.
