Which layer is the hottest layer?

Published in Earth Structure 1 min read

The hottest layer of the Earth is the inner core. This is the center of our planet, with temperatures reaching up to 5,500°C (9,932°F). It's composed primarily of iron and nickel, and its intense heat energy makes it the Earth's engine room.

While the thermosphere is considered the "hot layer" of the atmosphere due to high temperatures, it is far cooler than the Earth's inner core.
