The full form of KIU is Karakoram International University.
KIU is the first university established in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Pakistan. It was chartered by the federal government in 2002. The establishment of KIU was ordered by General Pervez Musharraf, who was the President of Pakistan at the time.
