A dynamometer is a device that measures force, torque, or power. In the context of automotive applications, a dyno measures how much power an engine produces under controlled conditions. It works by applying a load to the engine and measuring the resulting power output. This allows for the precise assessment of horsepower and torque at various engine speeds (RPM).
