Unfortunately, it's virtually impossible to say that any country completely has no pollution. Some countries, however, have significantly less air pollution than others.
While no country is entirely pollution-free, some nations demonstrate much healthier air quality than others. According to a 2023 report by IQAir, only a handful of countries met the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for air quality.
While the reference highlights countries with the least air pollution, it doesn't explicitly name a country with no pollution. Factors like transboundary pollution (pollution crossing borders) make it nearly impossible for any country to be completely free from pollutants.
Countries with the best air quality (and therefore, comparatively less pollution) include:
- French Polynesia
- Mauritius
- Iceland
It's crucial to remember that "less pollution" doesn't equate to "no pollution." Even in these countries, localized pollution sources (e.g., vehicles, industry) can exist. Furthermore, pollution can be transported by wind and weather patterns, affecting even the most remote locations.
