What is France's currency?

Published in European Currency 1 min read

France's currency is the euro (€).

France adopted the euro as its official currency on January 1, 1999, although euro coins and banknotes were not introduced until January 1, 2002. Before the euro, France's currency was the French franc.

The euro is the currency used by the Eurozone, which consists of 20 of the 27 member states of the European Union. The European Central Bank (ECB) is responsible for the monetary policy of the Eurozone.

Since Paris is the capital of France, its currency is also the euro.
