For swollen eyelids, antibiotic ointments such as erythromycin, bacitracin ophthalmic, or Polysporin® may be prescribed. These ointments, or antibiotic eye drops like polymyxin B and trimethoprim (Polytrim®), can help resolve bacterial infections and reduce irritation.
