How to Mix Facial Oils?

Published in Facial Oil Blending 2 mins read

To create your own facial oil blend, you'll need a carrier oil and one or more specialty oils. A carrier oil is a base oil that dilutes the specialty oils and makes them safe for your skin.

Here's a simple method for mixing facial oils:

  1. Choose your carrier oil. Popular choices include jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and grapeseed oil.
  2. Select your specialty oil(s). These oils are used to target specific skin concerns, such as wrinkles, dryness, or blemishes. Examples include rosehip seed oil, primrose oil, carrot seed oil, and essential oils.
  3. Fill your bottle. Start by filling your bottle approximately 2/3 or 3/4 full with your carrier oil.
  4. Add specialty oils. Fill the remaining space with your specialty oils.
  5. Incorporate essential oils (optional). Add 2-7 drops of essential oils, depending on your desired fragrance level.

Tips for mixing facial oils:

  • Experiment with different combinations. There are endless possibilities when it comes to blending facial oils. Feel free to try different carrier and specialty oils to find what works best for your skin.
  • Start with a small amount of specialty oil. You can always add more later, but it's best to start with a small amount to avoid overwhelming your skin.
  • Patch test before applying. Before applying a new facial oil blend to your entire face, test it on a small area of your skin, like your inner arm, to make sure you don't have any adverse reactions.
