How do I export only selected frames in Figma?

Published in Figma Exporting 2 mins read

To export only selected frames in Figma, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Frame(s) or Elements: In Figma, carefully select the frame(s) or specific elements within a frame that you wish to export. You can select multiple frames by holding down Shift while clicking on each one. If you only want parts of a frame, select those specific layers/elements.

  2. Navigate to the Export Options: With your desired frames or elements selected, look to the right-hand panel of Figma. Scroll to the bottom of this panel.

  3. Click Export: At the bottom of the right panel, you'll see an "Export" section. If there are no existing export settings, it will display "+". Click the "Export" button or the "+" symbol to add an export setting.

  4. Configure Export Settings (Optional): You can adjust the export settings (size, format – e.g., PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF) to your preference. Figma will remember these settings for future exports. You can also add multiple export settings with different sizes or formats by clicking the "+" button again.

  5. Export the Selected Items: Finally, click the "Export [Number] Layer(s)" button located below the export settings to download the selected frames or elements in your chosen format.

In Summary: Select, Export, Configure (if needed), and Download!
