Stopping Location Sharing in the Find My App
The process for turning off your location sharing depends on whether you want to stop sharing with just one person or cease sharing with all individuals.
Stop Sharing with a Single Person
If you only want to prevent one specific person from seeing your location, follow these steps within the Find My app:
- Open the Find My app.
- Select the People tab.
- Find the person you want to stop sharing with and tap their name.
- Scroll down to the bottom of their details.
- Tap Stop Sharing My Location.
- Confirm your choice when prompted.
This action will immediately stop sharing your location specifically with that chosen individual, but you will continue sharing with anyone else you previously allowed.
Stop Sharing with Everyone
To stop sharing your location with all individuals simultaneously, use the "Me" tab in the Find My app:
- Open the Find My app.
- Select the Me tab.
- Find the Share My Location toggle switch.
- Turn off Share My Location.
Turning off the "Share My Location" toggle in the "Me" tab will stop sharing your location with everyone you were previously sharing with through the Find My app. Your contacts will no longer see your current location.
