You can automatically clear your Firefox download list by configuring Firefox to clear its history, including downloads, when it closes. Here's how:
-
Access Firefox Settings: Click the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of Firefox and select "Settings".
-
Navigate to Privacy & Security: In the Settings menu, click on "Privacy & Security" in the left-hand sidebar.
-
History Section: Scroll down to the "History" section.
-
Custom History Settings: In the "Firefox will" dropdown menu, choose "Use custom settings for history".
-
Clear History on Close: Check the box next to "Clear history when Firefox closes".
-
Settings for Clearing: Next to "Clear history when Firefox closes", click the "Settings..." button.
-
Select "Download History": In the "Settings for Clearing History" window, ensure that the box next to "Download History" is checked. You can also select other items to clear when Firefox closes, such as browsing history, cookies, and cache.
-
Confirm and Save: Click "OK" to save your settings in both the "Settings for Clearing History" and main "Settings" windows.
Now, every time you close Firefox, your download list will be automatically cleared. Keep in mind that this will also clear other browsing data you've selected in the "Settings for Clearing History" window.
