To use a grip bandage (elastic bandage), particularly for a wrist injury, follow these steps:

  1. Preparation: If the bandage isn't pre-rolled, roll it up tightly. This makes application easier and more controlled.
  2. Initial Wraps on the Hand: Begin by wrapping the bandage around the hand a few times, starting at the base of your fingers. This secures the bandage.
  3. Wrap Around Thumb and Index Finger: After wrapping the hand, bring the bandage around the area between the thumb and index finger. This helps stabilize the hand.
  4. Wrist Support: Circle the wrist several times with the bandage. Ensure the wrap is snug but not too tight to avoid cutting off circulation.
  5. Finishing the Wrap: Continue wrapping upwards, ending approximately 10 centimeters (about 4 inches) above the wrist. This provides adequate support to the injured area.
