A sprayer pump is a device specifically designed to push or pull fluid tank contents out to a spray nozzle(s) at specific gallons per minute (GPM) flow rates and pressure delivery.

Sprayer pumps are fundamental components in systems used for applying liquids in a controlled manner. Their primary function is to take liquid from a reservoir or tank and propel it towards one or more nozzles. The key characteristic highlighted by the definition is their ability to manage the flow (measured in GPM) and the force (pressure) at which the liquid is expelled.

How a Sprayer Pump Works

At its core, a sprayer pump creates the necessary force to move fluid. Depending on the type, it might draw liquid in and then push it out under pressure.

  • Pushing/Pulling: The pump either creates a vacuum to draw fluid in (pulling) or applies direct force to expel it (pushing).
