Prepare Your Feet

First, you need to soften the hardened skin. Soak your feet in warm (not hot!) water for 10-15 minutes. This softens the dead skin cells, making them easier to remove. Adding Epsom salts or a moisturizing oil to the water can further enhance the softening process.

Choose Your Exfoliation Tool

Several tools can effectively exfoliate your feet:

  • Pumice Stone: A natural volcanic rock, pumice stones are gentle yet effective. Wet the pumice stone with warm water before use. Gently rub the stone in circular motions over the calluses and rough areas of your feet. Avoid pressing too hard, as this can cause irritation or injury.

  • Exfoliating Scrubs: Many commercially available foot scrubs contain ingredients like sugar or salt crystals that gently exfoliate the skin. Apply the scrub to damp feet and massage in circular motions before rinsing thoroughly.
