Sofa clips, often called crocodile clips, work by physically connecting modular sofa sections together, preventing them from sliding apart.
These clips typically feature a two-part design:
- One part: This has zig-zag brackets (or teeth) on one side and is often attached to the frame of one sofa section.
- The other part: This has a triangle post or a corresponding zig-zag bracket that interlocks with the first part. It's attached to the adjacent sofa section's frame.
Mechanism of Action:
When the two sofa sections are pushed together, the zig-zag brackets on the first clip interlock with the triangle post or the zig-zag brackets on the second clip. This creates a secure connection that resists lateral movement. The "crocodile" name comes from the way the clips "bite" together.
Why Use Sofa Clips?
- Stability: They prevent modular sofas from drifting apart, maintaining a cohesive seating arrangement.
- Safety: They reduce the risk of gaps forming between sections, which can be a tripping hazard.
- Aesthetics: They contribute to a cleaner, more unified look for your sectional sofa.
