Where Can I Find Sofa Labels?

Published in Furniture Labels 2 mins read

Sofa labels are typically sewn in under a cushion, on the edges of the sofa, or underneath the furniture itself.

To find the label on your sofa, try looking in these common locations:

  • Underneath Seat Cushions: Lift each seat cushion and check the fabric beneath. The label is often attached to the decking (the fabric covering the frame) or the inside of the cushion cover.

  • Along the Edges: Run your hand along the bottom edges of the sofa, particularly around the back and sides. The label might be discreetly sewn into a seam.

  • Underneath the Sofa: Carefully flip the sofa over (with help!) and inspect the dust cover on the bottom. The label could be stapled, glued, or sewn onto this surface.

  • Attached to the Frame: In some cases, especially with older sofas, the label might be directly attached to the wooden frame. You might need to remove the dust cover partially to see it.

The label usually contains important information about your sofa, such as:

  • Manufacturer's Name: Identifies the company that made the sofa.
  • Model Number: Helps identify the specific style and design of the sofa.
  • Fabric Content: Details the materials used in the upholstery.
  • Cleaning Instructions: Provides guidance on how to properly clean and maintain the sofa.
  • Care Label: Offers specific washing and drying instructions for removable cushion covers.
  • Country of Origin: Indicates where the sofa was manufactured.

Finding the sofa label can be useful for ordering replacement parts, understanding the materials used, or getting specific cleaning recommendations.
