You can add distortion in GIMP using the Lens Distortion filter.
Here's how to access it:
- Go to the Filters menu in the image window.
- Select Distorts.
- Choose Lens Distortion.
This will open the Lens Distortion dialog, where you can adjust various parameters to create the desired distortion effect. Common parameters include:
- Main: Controls the primary distortion. Positive values create a barrel distortion (pinched in the middle), while negative values create a pincushion distortion (bulging out).
- Edge Brighten: Brightens the edges of the image, which can help counteract darkening caused by distortion.
Experiment with these settings to achieve the desired effect. You can see a preview of the distortion in the image window before applying the filter.
