To change the date on your Google account, follow these simple steps:
-
Log in to your Gmail account. Ensure you're logged into the Google account where you want to change the birthdate.
-
Go to your Google Account page. You can access this page by clicking on your profile picture in the upper right corner of Gmail (or any Google service) and then selecting "Manage your Google Account." Alternatively, you can go directly to myaccount.google.com.
-
Navigate to "Personal info". On the left navigation panel of the Google Account page, click on "Personal info."
-
Find "Birthday". Scroll down the "Personal info" page until you find the "Birthday" section.
-
Edit your birthday. Click on the "Birthday" section. You'll see your current birthdate displayed. Click on the pencil icon (edit icon) next to the date.
-
Enter your new birthdate. Use the dropdown menus or text fields to enter your desired month, day, and year.
-
Update. After entering your new birthdate, click the "Update" button to save your changes. Google may ask you to confirm your age. If so, follow the on-screen prompts.
Important Considerations:
- Age Restrictions: Google has age restrictions for its services. Changing your birthday to indicate you're younger than the minimum age may result in account restrictions.
- Limited Changes: Google may limit how frequently you can change your birthday to prevent abuse. If you recently changed your birthday, you might not be able to change it again immediately.
- Verification: In some cases, Google might request additional verification when changing your birthday, especially if the change is significant. This is to protect your account security.
- Privacy: Be mindful of the information you share online. While your birthday is needed for age verification by Google, review your privacy settings to understand who can see this information.
