Published in Google Account 2 mins read

To switch to a new Google Account, follow these steps, depending on whether you're using a browser or an Android device.

On a Browser (e.g., Chrome):

  1. Open your browser: Launch Chrome, or your preferred browser.
  2. Go to Google: Navigate to any Google service, such as Gmail, Google Drive, or simply Google.com.
  3. Click your profile icon: Look for your profile picture or initial in the top-right corner.
  4. Select "Sign out": Click on the "Sign out" option in the menu. This will sign you out of all Google accounts in the browser.
  5. Select "Sign in": After signing out, you should see a "Sign in" button. Click it.
  6. Choose your new account: A list of Google Accounts you've previously used may appear. If the account you want to use is listed, select it.
  7. Enter your credentials: If your desired account isn't listed, click "Use another account" and enter the email address or phone number associated with the new Google Account. Then, enter the password.

On your Android Phone or Tablet:

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com: Open a browser (like Chrome) on your Android device and go to myaccount.google.com.
  2. Tap your profile photo or name: In the top right, you'll see your profile picture or the first letter of your name. Tap on it.
  3. Tap "Sign out": In the menu that appears, select "Sign out". This will sign you out of your currently active Google Account.
  4. Sign in with the account you want to use: After signing out, tap "Sign in". You might be prompted to choose an account from a list of previously used accounts. If not, you can add a new account by following the prompts. Enter the email or phone number, then the password for the account you wish to use.

These steps will allow you to successfully change to a new Google account on your device. Remember to sign out of your old account first to avoid any confusion.
