Unfortunately, you can't directly change your primary calendar in Google Calendar itself. The "primary" calendar is tied to your Google account. However, you can change the default calendar used by Google Assistant. This affects which calendar new events are automatically added to when using voice commands.
Here's how to change the default calendar Google Assistant uses:
- Open your Google app.
- Tap on your profile picture or initial.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap on Google Assistant.
- Navigate to the "You" tab. In some versions, this might be labeled "Personal Results."
- Scroll down to "Your calendars" or a similar section about calendars.
- Select the calendar you want to use as your default for Google Assistant.
Important Notes:
- This does not change your primary calendar connected to your Google account. Events created directly in Google Calendar will still default to your primary calendar (typically, the one with your email address as the name).
- If you have multiple calendars displayed in Google Calendar, you can choose a different one when creating an event. Simply select the desired calendar from the dropdown menu in the event creation window.
- To move events from one calendar to another, you can open the event and change the calendar associated with it, or export and import calendar data.
