How do I change GPS to decimal in Google Earth?

Published in Google Earth 1 min read

You can change the GPS coordinates display in Google Earth Pro to decimal degrees by adjusting the settings in the Options menu. Here's how:

Steps to Change GPS Coordinates to Decimal Degrees in Google Earth Pro

  1. Open Google Earth Pro: Launch the Google Earth Pro application on your computer.

  2. Navigate to the Options Menu: Click on "Tools" in the top menu bar, and then select "Options" from the dropdown menu. This will open the Options dialog box.

  3. Select Decimal Degrees: In the Options dialog box, look for the "Show Lat/Long" section. Within this section, choose "Decimal Degrees" from the available options.

  4. Apply the Changes: Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the Options dialog box to save your changes.

Now, when you view coordinates in Google Earth Pro, they will be displayed in decimal degrees format.

For example, instead of seeing coordinates in degrees, minutes, and seconds (e.g., 34°0'0.0"N 118°0'0.0"W), you will see them in decimal format (e.g., 34.0000, -118.0000).
