How to Change Your Google Home Photo Album

Published in Google Home Photo Frame 2 mins read

To change the Google Photos album displayed on your Google Home device's photo frame, you need to use the Google Home app.

Changing the photo album on your Google Home device (like a Nest Hub) allows you to customize the pictures shown when the device is idle. This is managed through the Google Home app on your smartphone or tablet.

Here are the steps to change the albums used for your Google Home photo frame:

  1. Open the Home app. Locate and tap the Google Home app icon on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Favorites or Devices. You'll see these options at the bottom of the app screen. Navigate to where your devices are listed.
  3. Tap and hold your device's tile. Find the specific Google Home device (e.g., Nest Hub) you want to adjust and press and hold its tile.
  4. Tap Settings. In the menu that appears, tap the gear icon or the "Settings" option.
  5. Tap Photo Frame. Look for and select the "Photo Frame" option within the device settings.
  6. Tap Google Photos. Choose Google Photos as the source for your photo frame.
  7. Select albums to add and deselect albums to remove. You will see a list of your Google Photos albums. Tap the circles next to the albums you want to include in the rotation and deselect the ones you want to remove.

Once you've made your selections, the device will start displaying photos from the chosen albums when it's in ambient mode.

This process ensures your device showcases your preferred memories directly from your curated Google Photos albums.
