You can delete your Google Location History through the Google Maps app on your Android device. Here's how:
- On your Android device, open the Google Maps app.
- Tap your profile picture or initial located at the top right. This will open a menu.
- Select Your Timeline.
- In the top right corner of the Timeline screen, tap More, which is usually represented by three dots arranged vertically.
- From the menu that appears, select Settings and privacy.
- Under the "Location settings" section, find and tap Delete all Location History.
- You'll be prompted with a confirmation message. Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the deletion. This might involve checking a box to acknowledge you understand and then tapping a "Delete" button.
Important Considerations:
- Deleting your Location History will remove data about the places you've been, which is used by Google services like Maps and Google Assistant.
- Even after deleting Location History, some location data may still be saved to your account through other Google services like Web & App Activity, if those settings are enabled. You'll need to manage those separately if you want to completely prevent location tracking.
- You can also choose to delete specific date ranges from your Location History instead of deleting everything at once. This can be done from the Timeline view.
