How do I turn on Google Location Sharing?

To turn on Google Location Sharing, follow these steps on your Android phone or tablet:

  1. Add to Google Contacts (If Necessary): If you haven't already, add the Gmail address of the person you want to share your location with to your Google Contacts.
  2. Open Google Maps and Sign In: Open the Google Maps app on your Android phone or tablet and make sure you're signed in to your Google account.
  3. Access Location Sharing: Tap your profile picture or initial located in the top right corner of the screen. Then, select "Location sharing."
  4. Start Sharing: Tap "New share."
  5. Choose Sharing Duration: Select how long you want to share your location for. You can choose a specific time period, or share until you turn it off.
  6. Select People to Share With: Choose the person you want to share your location with from your contacts. If the person isn’t in your Google Contacts, you can share a link with them.
  7. Send: Tap "Share." The person you've shared with will be able to see your location.

It's also important to be aware of Google's privacy settings. You can stop sharing your location at any time.
