How to Change the Color of a Line in Google Slides

Published in Google Slides Formatting 2 mins read

Changing the color of a line in Google Slides is a simple process that allows you to customize your presentations visually.

To change the color of a line, you first need to select the line you wish to modify. Once selected, locate the formatting options in the toolbar.

Steps to Change Line Color

Follow these steps to update the color of your line:

  1. Select the Line: Click directly on the line object in your slide. You will see selection handles appear around it.
  2. Find the Color Icon: Look for the "Line color" icon in the toolbar at the top of the Google Slides window. This icon often looks like a colored line or a pencil drawing a line.
  3. Choose a Color: Click the Line color icon. A color palette will appear, offering various theme colors and standard colors. Select the color you want from this palette.
  4. Use Custom Colors: If the color you need isn't in the standard palette, select the Custom option at the bottom of the color picker. This opens a dialog where you can choose any color using a color picker, hex code, or RGB values.
  5. Apply the Color: The color will automatically update on your selected line once you click a color or confirm a custom color choice.

This process ensures your lines match your presentation's theme or stand out as needed. Remember, select the icon and click Fill color or Line color to access these options. While "Fill color" is for shapes, "Line color" specifically targets the outline or line objects.
