Black hair is the darkest hair color.
Black hair achieves its depth of color due to a high concentration of eumelanin, the pigment responsible for dark brown and black hues in hair, skin, and eyes. Individuals with black hair possess a greater density of this pigment compared to those with brown, blonde, or red hair. This abundance of eumelanin absorbs more light, resulting in the characteristic dark appearance. Because of large populations with this characteristic, it is also the most common human hair color.
